Grandine 3.0.0-rc.2 is a mandatory upgrade for Hoodi nodes currently running Grandine 3.0.0-rc.1.
Mainnet users should not upgrade to this release. This release is intended for testing and validating the Gloas hard fork and its new features, including:
-
Embedded Grandine in Nethermind — for users seeking maximum performance by minimizing the overhead between the consensus layer (CL) and execution layer (EL).
-
Standalone Validator Client — for users who prefer the traditional architecture, with the beacon node and validator client running as separate components.
