This is a preview release of 40.0. Additional features may be added before general release.

Updates in 40.0

• --native mode is now the default. To use mist-cli, set the --mist option, or to use softwareupdate --fetch-full-installer use the --ffi option.
• Improved the speed of downloading dist files in --native mode by parallelising the downloads.
• jq will now be installed on macOS 14 or lower if not already present when using the package installer, allowing use of --native mode on all devices. The appropriate version of jq for Intel or Apple Silicon is installed.
• Allow the use of --native mode on older systems if jq is present. Note: jq must be in the path (addresses #561).

Bugfixes in 40.0

• Fixed an issue where user language is not respected in the password entry field (addresses #563).
• The extras folder can now be properly overridden (addresses #547).
