  • Configuration Cache is the recommended execution mode
  • Gradle now requires JVM 17 or higher to run
  • Build scripts use Kotlin 2.1 and Groovy 4.0
  • Improved Kotlin DSL build script compilation avoidance

Upgrade instructions

Switch your build to use Gradle 9.0.0 RC1 by updating your wrapper:

./gradlew wrapper --gradle-version=9.0.0-rc-1 && ./gradlew wrapper
