github goruck/home-generative-agent v3.44.0-beta.2

pre-release2 hours ago

A pre-release for field validation. HACS offers this only to users who have enabled beta versions for this repository. It is not a public release, and the changes below still ship to everyone in the next monthly bundle as 3.44.0.

What changed since 3.44.0-beta.1

  • The agent no longer says it has no access to history when tool retrieval missed the history tool (#715, #717). A question phrased around the device, such as "When did the mudroom lights turn off today?", ranked the turn-off and date/time tools above get_entity_history, and the model reported a missing capability. Questions about past states now always bind the history tool, on top of the retrieval limit. So does a bare follow-up such as "And the day before?". For any other retrieval miss, the model now says it could not find a suitable tool and suggests rephrasing.

To check, in a new conversation each time: ask "When did the mudroom lights turn off today?" (use one of your own lights), then "And the day before?" in the same conversation. With debug logging on, every Tool retrieval: ... tools=[...] line for those turns should include get_entity_history, even when it is not among the RAG tool candidate lines above it.

  • History answers no longer miss events by several hours (#719, #720). The model guessed a UTC offset for history times, sometimes wrongly. "Did I leave this morning?" could then search the wrong seven hours and answer that nobody had left. History times are now read as the home's local time.

  • History only reads devices exposed to Assist (#716, #718). Before, anyone at a voice satellite could read the history of a device hidden from Assist by naming it. A hidden device now gets the same "not found" answer as one that does not exist. This is a behavior change: to ask about the history of a sensor Home Assistant does not expose by default (a power meter, a battery level, a leak or smoke sensor, a person or device tracker), expose it under Settings → Voice assistants → Expose.

Also in this pre-release (from 3.44.0-beta.1)

  • The Sentinel proposals card follows your Home Assistant profile language (#697, #714, @hruba202).
  • Low-battery rules approved from discovery get a readable push subtitle (#696, @hruba202).
