github goruck/home-generative-agent v3.43.0-beta.9

latest release: v3.43.0-beta.10
pre-release4 hours ago

A pre-release for field validation. HACS offers this only to users who have enabled beta versions for this repository. It is not a public release, and the changes below still ship to everyone in the next monthly bundle as 3.43.0.

It supersedes v3.43.0-beta.8 for #671 testing.

What changed since beta.8

No more detached fragment of the acknowledgement before the answer (#690). On beta.8, a long acknowledgement such as Kokoro's "One moment, please." could leave its last syllable ("…se") to play seconds later, just before the answer. Home Assistant converts streamed speech with ffmpeg, and while it waits for more audio it holds back its last ~50 ms; measured, 51 ms of a 1.6 s sentence stayed inside until the answer arrived. beta.8 added silence after the first sentence only when it was short, so a longer one had real speech in that held frame. Now:

  • The first sentence always ends with at least a quarter second of silence, so what is held back is silence.
  • While the agent is still working, the stream is kept fed with silence paced to real time, so the converter keeps passing audio through.

Correction to the beta.8 notes: they blamed a hard consonant at the end of the phrase ("…t", "…k"). That was wrong. The fragment comes from the conversion step above, and any wording you like is fine.

What to validate

  • A "why" question with the acknowledgement on: "One moment, please." about 1.5 s after you stop talking, no separate fragment in the pause, then the answer.
  • Follow-up turns, the same.

Everything from beta.8 and earlier is included. See CHANGELOG.md under Unreleased.
