A pre-release for field validation. HACS offers this only to users who have enabled beta versions for this repository. It is not a public release, and the changes below still ship to everyone in the next monthly bundle as 3.43.0.
It's cut so @andymcmanus can re-run his #671 repro: on a turn that followed requests Home Assistant answered locally, the satellite repeated those earlier answers before the real one. It supersedes v3.43.0-beta.5.
What changed since beta.5
Requests Home Assistant handled locally are no longer answered again (#684). This was not the streaming TTS replaying audio. It was the model writing those answers again:
- With Prefer handling commands locally, HA records a request it answers itself as a tool call. Since v3.33.3, HGA passed such a turn to the model as the bare question, without HA's answer.
- Some models then read those questions as still open and answer them all, including claiming actions they never took. Replaying a real logged request: qwen3:8b repeated the earlier answers 6 times out of 6; qwen3.8 did not.
- Each such question now reaches the model marked as already handled, with HA's answer, inside the user's message: 0 of 6.
- The answer is still never shown to the model as its own reply, so it keeps calling tools for commands (the #588 fix), and a follow-up like "turn it off" still finds the device.
Requirement ranges (#685). aiofiles, ollama, anthropic and sentence-stream are now short ranges instead of exact pins, because Home Assistant's validator began refusing those pins. Nothing changes for an existing install.
What to validate
- Your sequence from the report, within a few minutes so it stays one conversation: "what time is it", "turn on the hallway light", then "say hello". You should hear only the hello.
- A follow-up that relies on the earlier local command, e.g. "turn it off" right after the hallway light, should still act on the hallway light.
