Notes
Publishing of this release has been canceled, it is replaced by 1.48.8. In the meantime, people experiencing a sticky yellow badge issue can try the dev build 1.48.9b0 or above to confirm it is solved.
This release mostly benefits Chromium-based browsers. I haven't decided yet if it's worth publishing this release on AMO since the main issue addressed here does not affect Firefox.
