• Added acp to agy --help: agy acp runs the CLI as an Agent Client Protocol (ACP) server over stdio, so editors can use it as their agent, with images and embedded file context in prompts, steering a running turn by sending another prompt, default, accept-edits, and plan session modes, session/resume restoring a session without replaying its history, each session keeping its own model and thinking level, and Google sign-in from a terminal with agy acp --login for editors connected over SSH or without a browser.
• Added --remote-agent to agy --help, which runs the session's conversations on remote agents instead of this machine, where --project names a remote project by ID or name and otherwise conversations open in your default remote project; in these sessions @-mention completion now searches the remote agent's files, artifacts that can't be shown in the terminal get an Open in browser link, the header shows remote workspace instead of your local directory, the / menu no longer offers skills from this machine, and the Remote tab in /config shows the conversation's own permission preset when it has one.
• Added local projects to /projects, so in a local session you can list your projects with the current one marked, create one from a name and a set of folders given as absolute, ~, or workspace-relative paths, rename a project or change its folders, and switch to a project, which adds its folders to the workspace and starts a new conversation.
• Added sign-in for a partner plugin's MCP servers when you install it from /plugin, with a Connect <plugin> screen for each server that opens its sign-in page (Esc skips), a ⚠ needs sign-in marker and a Sign-in: row for the plugin in the Installed tab, and the third-party developer tools notice for partner plugins at the end of the Discover list, in a plugin's details, and after agy plugin install or /plugin install.
• Added a built-in ${HOME} variable to plugin sidecar.json templates, so a sidecar can name paths under the user's home directory in workspaceUris and accessGrants, such as file://${HOME}/worktrees; a sidecar argument named HOME still takes precedence.
• Changed headless -p runs without --print-timeout to wait for background tasks to finish, where they previously stopped them after a hidden 30-minute limit and exited with success; when --print-timeout cuts a turn short, the run now exits with code 3, prints an AGY_ERROR line naming the tasks it terminated, and writes a [agy] print timeout after ... line to stderr.
• Changed /btw side questions to be able to call tools, such as reading files or searching, showing each call live in the /btw card and a Called N tools summary once the answer is done, while any tool call that would ask for permission is denied automatically; this fixes side questions failing with an empty-response error when the model wanted to use a tool.
• Changed the no flickering (altscreen) option under Rendering Mode in /config to full screen (altscreen); the saved setting is unchanged.
• Improved the error for a stdio MCP server whose command isn't installed, which now says, for example, "uvx" is not installed or not on PATH, install it or set "command" to its full path instead of a raw executable file not found in $PATH error.
• Improved Auto mode's review of commands that would leave the terminal sandbox so it times out and asks less often on safe commands, such as uploads that don't request a review, stopping a job the agent started, installing or removing packages from a registry, and removing files that can be restored from version control.
• Fixed /diff drawing an empty ↕ ··· fold divider at the top of new files and of edits starting at line 1, where nothing was folded away, and fixed undo in the prompt bringing back a message you had already sent, and undo in ! shell or : search mode bringing back prompt text that Enter would then run as a command or search.
• Fixed conversations using a GEMINI_API_KEY re-sending a prompt forever when the API's safety filter blocks it, which now ends the turn with a content-filter message, and the pro and flash subagents on that connection running models two generations older instead of Gemini 4 Argon and Gemini 3.8 Flash.
• Fixed certain models failing a turn on rate-limit (429) and server (5xx) errors instead of retrying them, now honoring the server's Retry-After header, and fixed plugin auto-upgrades of a plugin installed under a different folder name, such as after a rename, writing to a new folder and retrying on every startup instead of updating the existing folder in place.
