Release
Stable Android release APK for Harness Remote 2.4.0.
What's Changed
- The app is installable from a browser now, as a Progressive Web App published at
https://giuliastro.github.io/harness-remote/ and deployed from each release tag. It caches its own
shell, so it opens without a connection, and it lands on the home screen or app list like the APK. - Question prompts offer the free-text answer again. It had been hidden on every question ever
asked: the tool leaves that flag unset when it relies on its default, and the app was reading the
absence as "off". - Answering a single-choice question no longer sends a typed answer together with the option you
picked, and a question you already answered shows your choice when you scroll back to it. - Settings says so when the address you typed cannot be reached at all. A browser refuses to let an
HTTPS page talk to a plainhttp://server unless that server is on the same device, which is
what the hosted web app runs into when it is pointed at a PC on the local network. The Android
APK is not affected and remains the way to drive a PC from a phone. - A long session title no longer widens its card or drags the layout sideways: it wraps on phones
and truncates in the desktop sidebar.
Contributors
- Special thanks to @birabittoh (Marco Andronaco) — built the
PWA and the GitHub Pages deployment behind it, which is what makes the app installable from a
browser at all, and repaired the question prompts, where the free-text answer had been missing
since the feature shipped. - @Baylar55 (Baylar Sadigov) — kept long session titles from breaking
the session list layout.
