1.24.0 – BDF Fonts & Pixoo API Fallback

What's new

• Added an API fallback for Pixoo firmware using port 9000 (#151).
• Added BDF font support with bundled pixel fonts, Unicode characters, and custom fonts (#154).
• Fixed inconsistent default font selection and fallback for malformed font files.
• Fixed a missing pixel in the five_pix font.
• Added automated Python tests alongside HACS and Hassfest validation.

Upgrade notes

Text components now preserve lowercase letters. PICO_8 displays lowercase as small caps, and five_pix uses its lowercase glyphs. Use uppercase text or the Jinja upper filter to keep the previous appearance.

Component animations and hosted GIF playback (#157 and #158) are not included.

Validation

All 18 tests, five font subtests, HACS validation, and Hassfest validation passed. No physical-device test was performed during this review.
