oot-vr v0.3.5-alpha

The two eyes now render in one pass, and the refresh rate changes by itself between 90 Hz and 72 Hz.

This is an alpha release. Some problems are known. Save frequently.

Important

You must own a legal copy of the game. This APK does not contain game assets. At the first start, you select a dump of your own cartridge or disc.

Changed

  • One render pass for the two eyes (#82). The render work of the eyes is about half. Headsets without GL_OVR_multiview2 use one pass for each eye, as before.
  • Automatic refresh rate (#84). This is the new default. The game uses 90 Hz, and 72 Hz while frames are late, for example when Hyrule Field loads.
  • Stereo Render Divisor is 2 by default. The headset follows your head at full rate. The world updates at 45 FPS at 90 Hz. If moving objects look unsteady, set the divisor to 1 in VR Settings > Performance.
  • The menu opens at the first start only (#85).
  • The warp screen shows its text with OoT Reloaded (#81).
  • Updates now replace soh.o2r on the headset. Before, an update kept the file of the first install.

If you selected a refresh rate or a divisor in the menu before, your values stay. Select "Automatic" to use the new mode.

Known problems

  • When a large area loads with large texture mods, the frame rate drops for some seconds (#78).
  • The game does not stop while the menu is open.

Install

  1. Enable developer mode on the headset.
  2. Install oot-vr-v0.3.5-alpha.apk with SideQuest or adb install.
  3. Copy your dump into the Download folder of the headset.
  4. Start OoT VR from Unknown Sources, and select your dump.

If you have an older version, install this APK over it. Your saves stay.
