oot-vr v0.3.4-alpha
This release decreases the CPU work of the renderer. Hyrule Field keeps 72 FPS at 72 Hz and 90 FPS at 90 Hz on a Quest 3S.
This is an alpha release. Some problems are known. Save frequently.
Important
You must own a legal copy of the game. This APK does not contain game assets. At the first start, you select a dump of your own cartridge or disc.
Changed
- The renderer does less CPU work (#61). The game keeps the resources that a frame uses, and the two eyes use them again. With all files of Djipi's 3DS Experience, the frame drop when you enter Hyrule Field is shorter: about 10 seconds, not 30.
- The game writes its frame rate to the log. Each 5 seconds, a
[VR] Perf:line shows the frame rate and the time of each pass. Read it withadb logcat -s soh:V | grep Perf.
Measured on a Quest 3S with OoT Reloaded HD:
| Refresh rate | Hyrule Field | Free time in each frame |
|---|---|---|
| 72 Hz | 72 FPS | 5-12 ms |
| 90 Hz | 90 FPS | 4-9 ms |
Known problems
- With the file "01 Main Textures" of Djipi's 3DS Experience, the frame rate drops for 10-30 seconds when you enter a large area (#78). Do not install this file.
- With all files of Djipi's 3DS Experience at 90 Hz, Lake Hylia can drop to 51-89 FPS (#80).
- The game does not stop while the menu is open.
