oot-vr v0.3.1-alpha
This release makes the game smoother in large areas, adds a laser pointer to the SoH menu, and adds a guide for mods.
This is an alpha release. Some problems are known. Save frequently.
Important
You must own a legal copy of the game. This APK does not contain game assets. At the first start, you select a dump of your own cartridge or disc.
New
- Laser pointer in the SoH menu (#52). Point a controller at the panel. A beam shows where you point. The trigger clicks, and the right thumbstick scrolls. The left thumbstick and the A and B buttons still work.
- Headset Refresh Rate setting in VR Settings > Performance: 72, 80, 90, or 120 Hz.
- Mods guide in the README: where to copy mods, the Mod Menu, and the tested mods.
Changed
- The game runs at 72 Hz by default (#51). Each frame has more time, and the frame rate in Hyrule Field is more stable. Select 90 Hz in the menu if you prefer it.
- The settings Current FPS and Match Refresh Rate are hidden on the Quest. They did nothing in VR. Use Headset Refresh Rate to change the frame rate.
- On the Quest, the menu tooltips do not show keyboard shortcuts.
Fixed
- A folder in
mods/that the game cannot read no longer closes the game (#48).
Known problems
- At 90 Hz and higher, the frame rate can drop in Hyrule Field and Lake Hylia (#47).
- The game does not stop while the menu is open.
