Simpler API keys, and clearer setup when a key doesn't fit your agent.
API keys
- Service menu: pick DeepSeek, OpenRouter, Anthropic or OpenAI to fill in the addresses, or choose Custom and enter your own.
- Codex: any key with an OpenAI-style address now counts for Codex. If the service doesn't support it, Codex's own error shows in the chat.
- Check now: an optional button sends a very small test request to each address and shows what the service answered. It may use a tiny bit of API credit.
- Remove: the popup now closes after removing a key.
- Key safety: Buddy now hides your key if a service repeats it in an error, including errors passed on to agents.
Setup
- Clear explanation: if your API keys don't work with your default brain, step 3 now says so and offers an agent that can use them, instead of only asking you to sign in.
- No account: if you have no keys and no agent ready, step 3 offers OpenCode's free models.
- Honest labels: an agent running on an API key now shows not signed in · API key, not "signed in".
Antigravity
- If sign-in stops without any message, the error now shows its exit code.
Updating
Buddy will tell you about this update (or ask any agent "update yourself"). Otherwise install buddy.apk below over your current Buddy; your chats, settings and sign-ins are kept.
