About Google Play
Google Play turned Buddy down for production: its policy doesn't allow apps that use accessibility to carry out tasks, and that's what Buddy is for. So Buddy is on GitHub only: install buddy.apk below, and it keeps itself up to date. The Play links are gone from the README and Settings.
Share to Buddy
- Share a photo, file, link or text from any app and pick Ask Buddy: choose a new chat with any of your agents, or a recent chat. It opens with the attachment or the text in the message box, ready to send. Nothing is sent on its own.
Plan usage
- Claude Code and Codex chats show a small speedometer in the top bar: how much of your plan's 5-hour or weekly limit is used. Tap it for both windows and when they reset. Settings shows them too.
- A chat says so once when either passes 80% and 95%, since scheduled tasks and rules use your plan while you're not looking.
Check Buddy
- Settings → Check Buddy tests each part (accessibility, notification access, battery optimization, Buddy's Linux, the phone tools server, your agent, internet, free space) and offers a fix for what fails.
- Copy report and Report a bug on GitHub fill in versions and results only, never chats, screen text or notifications.
Safer and calmer
- Stop means stop: what you typed while the agent worked isn't sent after you press Stop; it goes back into the message box.
- Two approvals at once: a second card waits its turn ("1 of 2") instead of quietly denying the first. The Chats screen lists every open approval and question under Waiting for you.
- An approval for one message no longer covers sending a different one.
- A task stops after 60 phone actions, or the same action 6 times in a row, so a loop can't use up your plan.
- Installing an APK no longer takes over the screen, and touching the installer doesn't pause the agent.
Other changes
- Install errors in plain words (no space, no internet, server busy), with the installer's own output behind Details, and a free-space check first.
- Help in Settings, and agents can read Buddy's guide to answer "how do I…" questions about Buddy.
SECURITY.md, and every permission explained in the privacy policy.- Tests for how Buddy reads each agent's output, run on every change.
Updating
Buddy will tell you about this update (or ask any agent "update yourself"). Otherwise install buddy.apk below over your current Buddy; your chats, settings and sign-ins are kept.
