The browser keeps your drafts, and typing on web pages sticks.
Background browser
- When a page warns that leaving loses what's typed (an unsent post, a form), Buddy now stays on it and tells the agent. Only a second try leaves. Before, it answered OK and the draft was gone. Leaving also no longer hangs for 30 seconds.
- A tap that never reached its button (the page redrew it just then, as Reddit's Post button does after typing) is noticed and tapped once more. A tap that worked is never repeated.
- Clickable icons without words (a banner's ✕, a trash icon) now get a number, named from the icon: "close (icon)", "delete (icon)". A delete or send icon still asks for your OK.
Phone
- Typing on web pages (Chrome, apps' web views) now goes in as a paste, so page editors like YouTube Studio's keep it instead of putting their old text back. Your clipboard then holds that text.
Agents
- When an app or site costs an agent time (a button that needs a second tap, a field that only takes a paste), it can note that in
~/.buddy/tips/in Buddy's Linux. Buddy shows the note the first time that app or site comes up in a chat. The notes stay on your phone.
Updating
Buddy will tell you about this update (or ask any agent "update yourself"). Otherwise install buddy.apk below over your current Buddy; your chats, settings and sign-ins are kept.
