Buddy speaks your language: 16 new languages.
Languages
- Buddy is now in Arabic, Chinese (Simplified), Dutch, French, German, Hindi, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, Turkish and Ukrainian, as well as English. It follows your phone's language; to pick another one for Buddy alone, go to Android Settings → Apps → Buddy → Language.
- The translations were made with AI. Corrections from native speakers are very welcome (see CONTRIBUTING.md).
- Arabic screens read right to left. The terminal stays left to right.
Safety
- The built-in risky words (Send, Pay, Buy, Delete…) now cover all of Buddy's languages, so these buttons ask in Hard mode whatever the language. Italian "Invia", "Paga" and the like were missing before.
- Smart mode: pressing Enter to send now goes to the reviewer, like a tap the rules don't catch.
- When an agent stops waiting for an approval or question card, the card now closes instead of blocking taps for 5 minutes.
Fixes
- The voice waves follow the bubble when you drag it while it's listening.
- Long labels in the hold menu wrap onto two lines instead of being cut off.
- The setup screen said Codex sends data to Anthropic; it's OpenAI.
Updating
Buddy will tell you about this update (or ask any agent "update yourself"). Otherwise install buddy.apk below over your current Buddy; your chats, settings and sign-ins are kept.
