Overview
This is a bug fix and small enhancement release.
Please Note When Installing OR Updating
The site/config.php file available on previous releases was removed with the release of 3.1.0. Whether you are spinning a new installation or updating your existing one (pre v3.1.0), follow the instructions on the top of the site/config.sample.php file. Essentially, fill in your environment's DB connection details in the provided variables, rename the file to config.php, and upload to your server's site/ directory.
New Features
- Added the ability for an admin to batch-reprint bottle labels for one or more selected participants at once, from Admin > Entries.
- Added a judging-table indicator to the QR check-in scan screen, so sorters no longer mistake a style/category code for a table number, and fixed the "paid" checkbox on that same screen not reflecting an entry's actual paid status.
- Replaced the checkmark icon on the Entry Info page's accepted styles list (used to flag styles needing additional entry information) with an asterisk, and added a plainly visible explanation above the list instead of relying solely on a hover tooltip, which could easily be missed.
Bug Fixes
- Fixed the drop-off location info icon on the public Entry Info page being trapped behind its own modal backdrop, which left the page frozen until it was refreshed.
- Fixed the Admin > Participants assignment modal showing raw, unclickable HTML instead of working links.
- Fixed two placeholder files (user_docs/.gitkeep, user_temp/.gitkeep) repeatedly disappearing from the installation on disk.
- Fixed a fatal error on PHP 8.3 and newer when a competition date field was left blank.
- Fixed the Entry Info page's drop-off map-marker link showing for signed-out visitors even though it led nowhere.
- Fixed judges being unable to be assigned to a table under the BA/BA2026 style sets, which could silently route entries to the wrong table.
- Fixed the printed bottle/can label format silently reverting to "Standard" after certain update deployments.
- Fixed entrants' own entries disappearing from My Account a short time after navigating away and back, caused by an inactivity check that could leave a session half logged-out instead of fully logging it out.
- Fixed a Best of Show management issue that could hide a table's 1st-place entry from Manage BoS when that table was scored entirely through electronic scoresheets.
- Fixed required entry information (such as Regional Variation, strength, carbonation, and sweetness fields) being silently reverted to a previous value when editing certain BJCP 2021/2025/2026 and AABC 2022/2025 styles, plus a related issue where an admin editing another entrant's entry could have that entry reassigned to the admin's own account.
- Fixed a site crash on PHP 8.1 and newer during a database update, caused by a years-old, previously-silent SQL error that a newer PHP default turned fatal; also hardened the application generally against the same class of error going forward.
- Fixed the Bull Pen report incorrectly showing every judge/steward as available for every judging session regardless of what they signed up for, and redesigned the Admin > Judging Tables Bull Pen to break unassigned judges/stewards down by session instead of one competition-wide list.
- Fixed Administration Dashboard dropdowns for judges, stewards, table cards, sign-in sheets, and pullsheets listing non-judging locations alongside real judging sessions.
