Overview
This is an enhancement and minor bug fix release.
More info on the BCOE&M project website.
Please Note When Installing OR Updating
The site/config.php file available on previous releases was removed with the release of 3.1.0. Whether you are spinning a new installation or updating your existing one (pre v3.1.0), follow the instructions on the top of the site/config.sample.php file. Essentially, fill in your environment's DB connection details in the provided variables, rename the file to config.php, and upload to your server's site/ directory.
New Features
- Integration of the BJCP 2026 Mead Style Guidelines.
- The ability to import and use style sets not shipped with the application.
- JSON or CSV file formats only - Admins can download starter templates to build their own customized style set.
- Built to use as a proof-of-concept, the GABF 2026 style set JSON and CSV files are also available.
- The option to release scoresheets prior to posting results.
- During the time between the scoresheet release and posting of results, participants will be able to view scores and access/print judge scoresheets for each of their entries.
- Paricipants will not be shown if their entries placed until after results are released.
- The option for Admins to supress displaying table- or category-based advancing entries.
- Only BOS and overall results are displayed in this "winner takes all" scoring model.
- The ability for Admins to automatically create a practice judging session with dummy data.
- Provides any judge who is unfamiliar with Electronic Scoresheets the opportunity to practice filling one or more out in a sandbox-like environment, accessed directly from their Judging Dashboard.
- Admins can choose to create entries for beer, mead, and/or cider.
- The application must be placed in Tables Planning Mode by an Admin to take advantage of the practice session.
- Admins can manually trigger deletion of the practice session and associated data via a single button.
- The practice session and associated data are automatically deleted when the application is placed back into Tables Competition Mode.
- The ability for Admins to reassign a judge's evaluation to a different entry.
- Sometimes judges create an evaluation that's associated with the wrong entry/judging number.
- Admins can now reassign any evaluation to another entry/judging number with a simple button click – previously, the judge would have been forced to recreate their evaluation.
- The ability for Admins to use a hotlink URL as Sponsor logo source.
- Admins will have a choice to either upload the logo as usual or provide a URL.

- Fixed mead/cider carbonation, sweetness, and strength values always displaying in English. (PR #1746, thanks @auspisec)
- Fixed pouring instructions being stored and displayed in the entrant's original UI language instead of a stable value. (PR #1747, thanks @auspisec)
- Fixed Markdown-enabled competition text occasionally rendering inside a code block - most commonly found with Shipping Info display text.
- Fixed Honorable Mention being blocked from being awarded more than once per table/round.
