GenOffice v0.12.29 stable desktop installers.
What's New
- Docs: page breaks land where Word puts them across a 50-document production sample (headings stay with their table, rows split at legal cuts, contextual spacing crosses table boundaries, TOC entries and numbered indents follow the style chain, Aptos/Malgun/Calibri-substitute/Nirmala UI metrics, Korean autospace); DOCX→PDF export no longer drops content (reported by @jeff-jiang-pointures) and body text no longer overlaps a header picture (reported by @x86law-dev); edit header/footer table cells in place, insert a picture from the Header & Footer tab and resize inline pictures in headers, footers and cells; the table corner handle scales row heights too; custom (w14) list formats survive reuse and re-save (reported by @lkopenec); read and write document properties and a pasted field keeps its instruction (@tokg-venv); saved Zotero citations stay editable in Word and WPS (@tokg-venv) and Mendeley fields fold like Zotero's.
- Sheets: VLOOKUP over a table or defined name no longer goes blank after a save (reported by @putude), same for DOLLAR and other locale functions; CSV export writes the real values instead of width-fitted displays; one Increase Decimal click no longer jumps to 10 places; Convert to Number survives the save; the status bar shows Sum/Average again; keyboard focus returns to the grid after a ribbon command; the View tab shows every display toggle (@tokg-venv); a password-protected workbook is reported as such (@charan-rathore); XML spreadsheets under a legacy name open (@tokg-venv); a picture in a note survives the next save (@tokg-venv); opening a large workbook uses a fraction of the memory.
- Slides: chart data labels, data tables, secondary-axis formats, CJK category wrapping and legend placement match PowerPoint; a chart carries its workbook so PowerPoint's Edit Data works (@MidsummerYU); real 3D models, stored as PowerPoint stores them (@MidsummerYU); table-style fonts and "X Variable" font names resolve correctly; opening a deck no longer parses every system font, cutting memory on open.
- PDF: saving retries a locked rename and falls back to an in-place write on Windows (reported by @hou0).
- Markdown / HTML: the open file reloads when another program changes it on disk (asked by @ch-ynn); the theme menu stays inside the window (reported by @qgzln, fixed with @tokg-venv); paper themes keep their own ink colour in a light UI; disabled quick-access buttons look disabled.
- AI: Home Ask AI builds and edits real files through the bundled CLI, with a task card, attached files and labelled tool chips; skills: import from a folder, zip or a single SKILL.md, a Skills section in Settings with 40 recommended document skills, and a composer menu to attach them (import groundwork by @tokg-venv); Keenable as a web-search backend (@ilya-bogin-keenable); MiniMax defaults to M3.1 Flash (@octo-patch); loopback providers skip the proxy (@tokg-venv); the knowledge-base panel lists its conversations (@tokg-venv).
- App: long-idle background tabs sleep to free memory and the file indexer retires when idle; Cmd+Q quits on the first press with a Docs tab open (reported by @luolenbin); Linux deb/rpm installs keep per-type file icons (reported by @Pojlekc); one Settings entry with ⌘, in every app's menu (@tokg-venv); the resource watchdog no longer re-prompts for a stable document.
Thanks to @tokg-venv, @MidsummerYU, @ilya-bogin-keenable, @octo-patch, @charan-rathore for the contributions, and to everyone who filed reports and requests.
