github generalaction/emdash v1.2.8

This release adds language intelligence to the editor, subscription usage meters, and YouTrack integration. It also brings diff comments to chat and improves file browsing, agent status, and desktop integration.

Highlights

  • The editor adds hover information, definitions, type definitions, references, and diagnostics for local and SSH workspaces. JavaScript, TypeScript, and Python language servers are bundled; additional servers support Bash, Go, Rust, C/C++, JSON, YAML, HTML, and CSS dialects. Language service status and restart controls are available in the file tab menu.
  • A new Usage page in settings shows remaining Codex and Claude Code subscription allowances, reset countdowns, and refresh controls. Shared accounts appear once across machines, and stale or unavailable readings are clearly marked.
  • Connect YouTrack Cloud or self-hosted instances with a permanent token, search tickets using YouTrack queries, and start tasks with ticket descriptions and comments. Ticket context includes up to the latest 100 accessible comments and uses readable ticket identifiers.
  • Attach draft diff comments to chat through the “Diff comments” item in the @ menu. Comments are cleared only after confirmed delivery, while failed sends and comments edited during submission remain pending.
  • Jira setup now offers a choice between email and API token or a manually supplied bearer access token.
  • Branch Commits can switch between a flat file list and a nested tree, with its own saved view preference.

Fixes

  • File browsing shares live folder listings across views and updates changed folders without rebuilding the entire tree. Folder expansion, drag-hover, and new-file placement are more reliable, names sort naturally, and files named __proto__ remain visible and editable.
  • Language services preserve unsaved edits across restarts and reconnects. Built-in editor support remains available where supported when a language server is unavailable, and language service or usage worker failures no longer block host startup.
  • Switching back to a task keeps terminal and agent dimensions in sync, preventing misplaced cursors, clipped lines, and overdrawn frames. Hidden panes no longer produce invalid terminal grid sizes.
  • Cursor and OpenCode working indicators clear correctly when agents finish or stop, including OpenCode sessions using custom providers. Chat resumes its working indicator after permission approval and ignores late prompt results after a session closes.
  • Chat preserves prices, literal HTML and XML, and inline math source instead of hiding text or showing empty message cards. Claude monitor events appear as passive notifications without interrupting active turns or duplicating screen-reader output.
  • Hidden issue and review context stays out of replayed chat transcripts. Draft diff comments remain visible when switching files or when the editor finishes loading.
  • SSH connections support OpenSSH user certificates supplied by the SSH agent. Reconnection logs include the underlying error instead of an unreadable object value.
  • Installed-app detection on macOS avoids application chooser prompts and recognizes GUI-only apps. Failed checks can be retried, and Windows detection respects custom installation directories.
  • Opening remote workspaces in VS Code, VSCodium, or Cursor requests a new window. “Open in Terminal” on Linux tries the user's default terminal before falling back to common terminal applications.
  • Merge commits show files changed against their first parent. Project and workspace inspection preserve Git errors instead of treating failed repository checks as ordinary directories.
  • Agent installation shows all supported options for the current platform, including WinGet for Claude Code on Windows.
