Beta build. It reaches the people who turned on "Get beta builds" in Settings, and everyone else once it is promoted.
The Wine 11 engine, offered where it is needed (#60, #15, #56). The EA app cannot install on the bundled Wine 10 engine: its background service never starts and its setup steps fail. It installs and signs in on Highball's Wine 11 engine (a build of the CrossOver 26.3 tree with three small patches), and The Sims 4 plays through it. That engine now ships as an option. Installing the EA app on an environment that runs Wine 10 asks first: create an "EA app" environment on Wine 11 (about 440 MB to download once, other programs untouched) or move the current environment to it. Moving re-runs the Windows setup and keeps everything installed. Switching back is the same step, from the environment's Advanced settings, where the engine can also be picked by hand. The same engine renders the Rockstar and Ubisoft sign-in windows, which Wine 10 cannot. Games were not re-verified on it, so it never becomes the default on its own.
Also in the betas since 0.8.5. DirectX 12 timestamp queries under D3DMetal are served by a shim in engine r2 (#63, 0.8.7). Chosen covers show everywhere (#64), a beta channel with steadier updates, the Epic menu shows when connected, "Make a Mac app…" is "Make a shortcut…" (0.8.6).
