Highball 0.3.0 — the performance pass

+42% frame rate for Steam games, measured (Aperture Desk Job, DXVK, same scene: 30.8 → 43.9 fps on an M1 Pro).

The insight: Wine's sync mode is fixed when a bottle's wineserver starts, and Steam's interface needs sync off — but games don't. Highball now runs bottles under msync, launches games through a silent Steam client (Steamworks IPC works headless), and only drops sync when you actually open the Steam window — automatically.

Also new: DXVK async shader compilation toggle (less stutter), frame-rate cap (30/60/120), and the compatibility database now records tuned settings, not just verdicts.

Don't miss a new highball release
