Games in a Steam library whose steamapps folder is a symlink to another disk show up again. The scan did not follow the link, so the Steam tab stayed empty under Installed for a player who keeps the library on an external drive (highball#259).
The database inside the app is current again. 0.10.6 was built from an older copy, so the additions its notes announced were missing; the build now refreshes its copy every time and refuses to release without it.
A program's cover and custom name follow the program when its environment is renamed or swapped. They were tied to the environment's name, and a rename left them on disk but unused (highball#258).
When a game asks for another engine, the question says that moving the environment moves every game in it onto that engine, and puts New environment first when other games are installed there. A player on an older Highball moved their whole environment to a Wine 11 revision that could not yet show Steam's window and lost the lot for a while (highball#262).
The database gains a Bloody Spell recipe that turns Media Foundation off for the game, confirmed by its reporter to get past the videos that froze it, plus the core fonts its title screen needs; an Overwatch 2 recipe that offers the Wine 11 engine on Play, where a player confirms it plays; and rows for Forgive Me Father, Limbus Company, Emberward, Stacking, Streets of Rage 4, Mirror's Edge Catalyst and Deskrawl, with new reports on Counter-Strike 2, Warframe, Elden Ring, Satisfactory and Heroes of Might and Magic: Olden Era.
Under the hood, Highball carries the first pieces for the day macOS 28 ends Rosetta: every architecture-specific path comes from the engine's manifest, and a signed Wine loader helper ships inside the app for the arm64 engines to come. Nothing changes for today's engines.
