The Wine 11 engine keeps data execution prevention on. Wine used to turn it off for the whole process as soon as any loaded module lacked the NX_COMPAT flag, which most 32-bit games from before 2010 do, and under Rosetta a writable and executable page costs a round trip into the system on first touch. A Direct3D 9 game streaming vertices through DXVK paid that price on every buffer write: in athei's test program on an M4 the writes took 30 to 50 seconds per 1500 frames with it off and about 1.3 with it on (highball#165). Revision r17 is r16 with athei's patch: DEP follows the main executable and stays on, as Windows's AlwaysOn policy does. A program that needs to write code into data pages can get the old behaviour back with WINE_DISABLE_NX_COMPAT=0 in its variables. Five Nights at Freddy's, Vindictus, Among Us and Counter-Strike 2 reached their windows on it. A game pinned to the Wine 11 engine is offered r17 on Play; an environment already on the Wine 11 engine picks it on its Full page under Advanced, Engine.
The database carries the week's corrections: Death's Door's invisible characters are DXVK's missing transform feedback on every Apple GPU, not the chip; Fallout New Vegas's row no longer claims x87 acceleration from engine r12 alone and names the DEP finding as a candidate for its frame rate; Hollow Knight's black cutscenes were seen on engines older than the video fixes; GTA V passes -nobattleye on Play, since a fresh Rockstar launcher starts BattlEye's installer otherwise.
A Steam client whose steam.exe was left empty by an interrupted self-update is offered the installer again instead of Open Steam, and the crash alert no longer proposes another graphics mode for a file that was never a program (highball#245). Red Dead Redemption 2, GTA V and the Rockstar Games Launcher recipes now ask for the Wine 11 engine r15 or newer, so an environment still on the revision 0.10.2 handed out is offered the current one on Play.
A game can be renamed from its tile: Rename… in the tile's menu, and the name shows on the tile and the game page, sorts and searches the library, with Reset name putting the store's title back. Covers were already yours to choose from the same menu or by dropping an image on the tile.
