v0.9 — Visuals, Speedrunning and VR Improvements
- Added Cell Shaded and expanded grayscale Super Mario Land filters, plus stationary crossed tree billboards enabled by default.
- Fixed Character Select's floating theater presentation and improved menu text and modded health-meter hiding, alignment and scaling.
- Added VR > Speedrunning: named splits, timer placement/size/color, progressive split reveal, controller start/split binding, and portable setup/LiveSplit split-file imports. Long names now fit the HUD name column instead of being truncated after 18 characters.
- Improved Big Hands surface climbing, hand contacts, independent attachments, and extended grabbing/punching. Added headset interaction with treasure chests.
- Added alternate special power-up music, preserving Sonic Shoes and original cap themes, and corrected replacement of the previous special power-up when collecting a new one.
- Improved cap-grab behavior and added a missing-cap indicator on the life icon.
- Corrected camera-turn lighting state and made script-error notices expire normally.
- PC keyboard dictation now uses bundled offline Whisper. Press Mic again to finish and transcribe, or close the keyboard to cancel. CPU processing is faster with the same model; timing varies by hardware and VR load. Quest retains its Android recognizer with the same finish/cancel controls.
- Updated the VR tutorial and player documentation. Retained large-map rendering optimizations, optional normal maps and the VR-specific updaters.
PC: extract the entire ZIP, including the speech folder. No ROM is supplied; an existing user-provided ROM in the game's saved-data folder can be reused. LiveSplit plug-ins are not supported on Quest; imports use split names and times. PC speech under Wine/Proton has not been verified.
