v0.7.2 — Boss Combat, Spawn Tools, and Camera Fixes

This update expands the physics-based VR combat and power-up systems while tightening boss interactions and first-person presentation.

Highlights

  • Added the Spawn Menu under Cheats for Wing Cap, Vanish Cap, Metal Cap, and Fire Flower.
  • Added the full Level Select submenu, including normal, secret, Bowser, and special stages.
  • Added and refined Fire Flower, Rasengan, and Rasen Shuriken special moves, with headset-rate held effects and improved enemy contact.
  • King Bob-omb can now be physically grabbed only from his properly sized rear contact zone. Fireballs, Rasengan, and Rasen Shuriken can damage him only through the rear weak point and preserve the normal three-hit fight.
  • Fixed Whomp and King Whomp rear-hit behavior so special moves cannot leave them stuck in broken animations.
  • Rasen Shuriken explosions now remain active for 1.5 seconds, fade over 0.5 seconds, rotate throughout the effect, and can apply a second hit only when an enemy remains inside for the full duration.
  • Improved first-person camera and torso alignment during movement. Star-spawn camera turning is now disabled by default and old enabled defaults are migrated safely.
  • Fire Flowers now have a 50% chance from supported coin/1-Up item boxes and a 30% chance from cork boxes.
  • Added the 44-color palette picker and editable Fireflower palette preset. Custom presets continue to persist normally.
  • Improved headset contact, held-effect anchoring, punch reach, and several interaction edge cases.

Using the special moves

  • Fire Flower: activate the power-up, make a right fist with Grip, then hold Trigger to charge and release with a throwing motion. The face-button fireball shortcut remains disabled in first-person VR.
  • Rasengan: hold right Trigger with an open right hand and circle the other gripped hand around it until fully charged, then touch a valid enemy.
  • Rasen Shuriken: after charging Rasengan, hold the configured Special button while charging above the headset when that requirement is enabled. Throw it with a real arm swing after it finishes charging.

Color palette selector

Open Edit Palette → Color Palette to choose from 44 named colors. Selecting one writes its RGB/hex value to the current body part; Back exits without changing it. The Fireflower preset controls the power-up palette and restores the previously selected palette when the power-up ends.

See the README and player guide for complete installation, controls, comfort settings, cheats, and motion-control instructions.

Fire Flower

  • Collect a Fire Flower from supported boxes or use Cheats > Spawn Fire Flower.

  • Fire Flower color, music, timer, charge time, and related cheats are configurable.

Rasengan

  • Hold Right Trigger with an open right hand.
  • Circle the left gripping hand around the right hand until charging completes.
  • Keep holding Right Trigger to retain it, then touch a supported enemy or breakable object.
  • The optional Grip + Trigger activation can be enabled under Special Moves.

Rasen-Shuriken

  • Charge a Rasengan, then hold the configured Special Button (Quest default: Y).
  • With the default requirement enabled, keep it above the headset while charging.
  • Once charged, swing and release to throw. It detonates when it contacts geometry or an enemy.
  • Rasengan, Rasen-Shuriken, and Fireball charge timings are configurable.
