- Withdrew X4 Pro firmware distribution again after #212 confirmed that affected CN/USB-locked devices may have no usable USB recovery path. Stable releases and release candidates now publish only the shared ESP32-C3 X4/X3 image; CI keeps the X4 Pro target compile-only and does not upload its binary.
- Hardened Pages and Auto Flash so X4 is always the default, X4 Pro is visibly marked as withdrawn and cannot be selected or flashed, stale X4 Pro browser binaries are deleted, and generated manifests reject
devices.x4proeven if an old release still contains an asset. - Reworked four-level Bayer quantization to preserve average luminance across the full grayscale range, retaining dark and midtone image detail reported as crushed in #215.
- Changed Library/list long-press paging to fire once per physical hold instead of repeating during slow e-ink refreshes, fixing multi-page jumps reported in #214.
- Passed 40 reader regressions, four Auto Flash regressions, workflow/Python/JavaScript syntax checks, and the
gh_releaseESP32-C3 build. The packaged image is 6,390,608 bytes and fits the 6,553,600-byte X4 OTA slot. Issue #213 remains under investigation and is not claimed as fixed by this release.
