ssh-tool reaches 1.0 and leaves the 0.x line, now built on Wails v3.0.0 stable. Your store, vault and sync carry over unchanged; this release also brings a round of fixes, mostly around unsaved edits in the editors.
Platform
- Wails v3.0.0 stable (was beta.34).
Editors
- Unsaved edits are no longer dropped without a word. Leaving a connection or folder with unsaved changes (a click in the tree, Ctrl+click, a new item), switching editor tabs with a half-edited forward, or switching VPN profiles with unsaved profile settings asks first: Save, Discard or Stay.
- A Discard button sits next to Save in the connection and folder editors (and in the "Unsaved changes" line), and on a VPN profile's Settings and Proxy tabs (it replaces Revert). Save is greyed out while nothing changed, in the folder editor too.
- A background tree reload (sync, a refresh) no longer resets an editor that has unsaved changes.
- Turning VNC, Kafka or Database on and off again no longer leaves the connection marked as changed: the switch goes back to inheriting. A switch showing an inherited "on" now turns off on the first click.
- VPN profile, Proxy tab: Reachable through the app proxy and Separate proxy for this VPN only take effect on the click. Listen address, port and extra networks keep their Save, now with an "Unsaved changes" marker.
- App proxy: an on/off switch next to the title replaces the checkbox at the far right. Listen address and port have Save and Discard, greyed out while nothing changed, and turning the proxy on or off no longer saves a half-typed address with it.
- Browser launcher: Save is greyed out until the path changes, with Discard next to it.
- Credentials: editing a credential joins the unsaved-changes prompt, and Save stays greyed out until something changed. A click on empty space in the credential list, or Esc, clears the selection, the same as in the connection tree.
- Credentials: the expiry date field, the day count and the 30d / 90d / 365d buttons follow the theme instead of the browser's default look.
- Credentials: tags can be edited after creation, and both forms use the same tag field as connections (chips, Enter or comma adds, suggestions from tags already in use).
- New credential: the dialog opens near the top and grows downwards, so the fields and the Create button no longer move under the cursor while the password strength hints appear.
- Sync: the WebDAV, SFTP and Dropbox forms grey out Save until something changed, with Discard and an "Unsaved changes" marker.
- While a save is running, leaving the editor waits ("Wait for the save to finish") instead of offering Save or Discard, the form is locked, and Discard is off; something typed during a save is no longer lost or written back stale. This covers connections, folders, credentials, forwards, bookmarks, VPN profiles and both proxy forms.
- The unsaved-changes prompt cannot be answered by the second click of the double-click that opened it (its Save and Discard need a real mouse movement, a key, or on touch a deliberate tap), Esc answers Stay, Tab stays inside it, and screen readers announce its title and message.
- A click, double-click, Enter or right-click on a tree row, in Quick access or in the palette does nothing more when the prompt is answered with Stay (no connect, no menu on the old selection, no tab switch). Bulk deletes keep the selection on whatever could not be deleted.
Network profiles
- The profile Browser and the app proxy use any address of a name that lies inside the VPN, not only the first one the resolver returns; the profile browser tries the next address when one does not answer.
- Two CI runner extra hosts with the same address but different jump paths are no longer pinned to one of them at random (the same path is still pinned).
- A profile's Browser reaches a name that only this machine's hosts file knows (an OpenShift route behind the VPN, say): the address from the hosts file is dialed inside the tunnel, and the browser still sends the name. Before, the name went into the tunnel and failed when the customer's DNS did not know it.
Navigation
- A Home button in the Connections header goes back to the start page (recent connections, workspaces, profiles). Esc in the tree does the same (after clearing an active filter). Before, only a click on empty tree space did, and a long tree has none.
Small fixes
- Database tab, Redis: a malformed
AUTHwith extra words no longer leaves the password in the audit line; key sampling keeps to its limit inside a single SCAN reply and gives up on a stalled read after its time budget; aSELECTthat succeeded right before Stop is kept for the next query. - Database tab, ClickHouse: stopping a query that was returning an error reports "query stopped" instead of an empty or partial error.
- Detached windows: the window is recognised in every hash form of its address, so it never offers "Open in a new window" itself.
- Forward form: one Cancel (the header's "+ Add" no longer turns into a second one), no "No forwards yet" under an open form, no stray divider above the list, a description example that fits the kind, the browser-profile note in normal text (orange is kept for "running - restart to apply").
- Placeholders are dimmer and italic, so an example like 127.0.0.1 no longer looks like a typed value.
