Changed
- The SFTP file view no longer covers your session. It docks inside
the SFTP pane, under the listing, instead of opening as a modal over
the whole window. The browser opens as a split beside the terminal,
so the modal was covering the very shell you opened the file for -
reading a README or a config while typing next door was impossible
without closing it first. Drag the divider between the listing and
the preview to resize it, or double-click the divider to reset to
half; the height is remembered as a share of the pane, so it survives
a resize. - The full-window view is still there for a long config in a short
split: Expand sends the file to it, Dock brings it back.
Switching either way asks first if you have unsaved changes. - Escape no longer closes the file view when it is docked - it only
leaves edit mode. The key reaches the view whenever focus happens to
sit in it, and closing a file you are reading beside your shell would
be a trap. The full-window view still closes on Escape. - Keyboard focus stays in the terminal when a docked file opens. The
docked view takes focus only when you click into it, which is what
makes typing in the shell while reading a file work at all.
Fixed
- The divider between the listing and the file view no longer sticks to
the cursor after you release the mouse. - The two buttons that move a file between the docked and full-window
views are now labelled Expand and Dock. They were a pair of diagonal
arrows that are not actually opposites - both are bidirectional - so
the control that undid the expand looked identical to the one that
performed it. - No more emoji in the interface. Eight were left, in the HTTP
modal, port forwards, the folder picker, the host-key warning, the
import banner and the icon picker. Emoji render from the system font,
so the same button looked different on Windows, Linux, macOS and
Android - and the project's own rules had banned them everywhere else
already.
Documentation
- Audited every doc against the source. The Go version was wrong in
four places, three documents still advertised the OS-keychain vault
unlock that was removed in v0.12.8, the architecture diagram showed a
schema 14 versions stale, and it listed an event that has never
existed. The data model stopped at schema v11 while its own header
said v25 - the eight tables and six columns added since are now
documented. The internal package layout was missing twelve packages
and a fifth importer. - Recorded the three traps the v0.90.0 file viewer walked into, in
docs/gotchas.md: a lexer whose decorating pass rewrites markup an
earlier pass emitted, a file's line terminator breaking every
line-anchored regex, and a Svelte$effecttracking the state it
writes rather than only what it reads.
