What's Changed
New
- HDR videos. HDR captures are detected and can get a tone-mapped SDR copy that plays as Source and feeds the lower qualities. The original is never modified. Six operators (bt.2390, spline, bt.2446a, hable, mobius, reinhard), all on the GPU when one is available.
- Compare dialog to pick an operator: the results side by side under a draggable handle on random frames of the video.
- Dynamic Range controls in Edit Video and the Edit details dialog, with live progress in the sidebar while the copy is made.
- Settings → Transcoding: a default operator and automatic conversion of every HDR video, off by default.
- HDR displays get the original as Source (HDR) in the quality menu; the viewer's pick is remembered per device.
- File Manager shows an HDR tag beside the resolution and the SDR copy with the transcodes.
- Custom games. Add a game by hand with your own artwork for games SteamGridDB does not have yet. They show in search ahead of SteamGridDB results and work without an API key.
- Full image: FFmpeg built with libplacebo and Vulkan, so tone mapping runs on the GPU when
graphicsis inNVIDIA_DRIVER_CAPABILITIES.
Fixed
- The automatic quality step down waits for 7 seconds of real buffering instead of firing on four buffering events, so a choppy connection no longer drops quality a second into a stall.
- Switching quality mid-playback resumes at the same spot without loading and playing the new file from the start.
- Faster video serving: nginx caches the per-video auth check for byte ranges and serves originals from the page cache.
- File Manager folder rows span the Uploader column again.
One database migration runs automatically on start.
