Pelmet 0.2.38

Changed:

  • The hidden icons are summoned from one stretch of the bar now: from the
middle of the screen to Pelmet's icon, where they land. Hovering or
clicking anywhere right of the icon — your visible icons, Control
Center, the clock, the recording dot — no longer opens them (#37, thanks
@brodly). The icon itself still toggles on click, and the hotkey is
    unchanged.
  • Every Apple menu bar icon that belongs to an app of its own — Weather,
Passwords, the Kerberos ticket, and whatever Apple ships next — is
managed like any third-party icon: hideable and movable, no per-app
patch (#36, thanks @mr-steveryan for the push to generalise it). Only
the icons macOS hosts itself (Wi-Fi, Sound, battery, the clock, Control
Center…) keep their own rules. Passwords turns out to be movable after
all; its lock badge is gone.

Fixed:

  • Clicking the clock while the Settings window was open flashed every
icon. The still Pelmet floats over the bar for that click now covers the
    always-hidden icons too.
  • A click on the recording dot right of the clock opens Notification
Center like a click on the clock (#37, thanks @brodly). The pointer stays
    where you clicked.

Added:

  • Behavior › System extras: "Clicking the clock opens Notification
Center", on by default. macOS refuses that click while icons are
hidden, so Pelmet lets go for an instant and clicks for you; without
Screen Recording that instant shows. Off, the clock is left alone and
the two-finger swipe from the trackpad's right edge still opens it.
