Pelmet 0.2.29

New:

  • Keyboard shortcuts. ⌥⌘, shows or hides the hidden icons, ⇧⌥⌘, opens
Settings. Both can be changed in Settings › General; ⌫ or the × puts
    the default back (#18).
  • Media controls can animate: three bars that wave while audio plays and
settle when it pauses. Off by default, Static or Animated per item in
Settings › Pelmet items. Animated costs about 3% CPU while music plays.
  • Hidden and always-hidden separators are hosted by two small helper
processes inside Pelmet.app, so they hide with everything else instead
of fading on their own clock. Nothing to set up; a section move in the
editor moves the separator between hosts.
  • Pelmet's own icon and separators can be dragged off the bar like any
    other item.
  • Siri and Time Machine hide as one tile and show a "Pinned by macOS"
card in the editor, since macOS keeps them where they are (#19).
  • The hover reveal listens on the right half of the bar only, so moving
across the left half no longer pops the hidden icons (#21).

Fixed:

  • Settings stayed alive after its window closed and kept animating off
screen at up to 27% CPU (#20).
  • A menu bar icon that refuses to be moved (some Electron apps swallow
the drag) is left where its app put it after three tries, with a note
in the editor, instead of being dragged at every reveal (#15).
  • Wide status items with a title are identified by their full title, no
    500pt cap (#17, thanks @riarheos).
  • A separator moved between sections in the editor stayed with its old
host until the next settings change, which could let other hidden
    separators through.
  • Clicking the clock always opens Notification Center now; the toggle is
    gone.
  • A Pelmet item placed after a pinned Apple icon no longer bounces
between two slots at every reveal.
