Pelmet 0.2.21
Right-clicking an empty spot in the menu bar opens Pelmet's menu. That's
useful when the Pelmet icon is hidden, but it also meant Pelmet was taking a
click that sometimes belonged to something else. If another app draws its own
surface up there, a notch app for instance, they're both after the same
right-click.
Two changes for that.
Added:
- A switch for the right-click menu, in Settings > General. Turn it off and
an empty-space right-click is left alone. - Right-clicking a Pelmet separator still opens the menu, and so does the
shortcut. You don't lose your way in. - The switch stays on while the Pelmet icon is hidden. With no icon in the
bar that right-click is your way back into Settings, so Pelmet won't let
you close both doors at once.
Fixed:
- A right-click on another app's window in the menu bar now goes to that app.
Pelmet was reading any window up there as empty bar. Thanks to
xX-Mordran-Xx for reporting it. - When Pelmet loses its Accessibility permission the icon turns orange to
tell you. On macOS 27 that colour never reached the screen and the icon
went black instead. On a dark menu bar that's close to invisible, so the
warning's been silent since the day it was added. - The Pelmet icon could go missing for good after you restore your settings
from a backup or another Mac. macOS keeps each icon's visibility next to
Pelmet's own preferences, so a backup taken while the bar was collapsed
brought the icon back hidden. There's no telling from Settings either, the
switch still reads on.
