license change
Initially I had rwMarkable under MIT license, which was fine, it was just a small little tool I was using with my wife to track our checklists and write a few notes. In the last few months Jotty evolved into something I'm extremely proud of.
I decided to change license to AGPL-3.0 in order to fully protect Jotty open source nature.
I think (sorry, no time to be modest here) I have built something that works extremely well and the MIT license just doesn't protect it the right way. I don't want some greedy organisation to get the codebase, re-brand it slightly and publish it closed source behind some sort of pay wall.
Everyone is entitled to take the code and change it however they want, but this license makes sure they KEEP IT OPEN SOURCE. Which is what I care about the most ❤️ I hope you are with me on that, please feel free to open a discussion about it in case you disagree or have some strong opinion on the matter, I'm happy to have a chat any time!
