v0.11.8 — Vulkan games are named, not mistaken for DirectX

A Vulkan game is now named as one

Installing into a Vulkan-only game produced no ReShade, no overlay and no log — while the status line said API unknown, assuming DX12. That is because ReShade reaches Vulkan through a registered Vulkan layer, not through the dxgi.dll this tool places beside the exe, so nothing it installed could ever load (#6, on the Detroit: Become Human demo — Vulkan 1.1, no Direct3D).

An executable that imports vulkan-1.dll and no Direct3D is now detected as Vulkan, shown as such on the Games page and in --check, and refused with the reason:

This is a Vulkan game. ReShade reaches Vulkan through a registered Vulkan layer, not through the dxgi.dll this tool installs, so nothing here would ever load — no ReShade overlay and no log. Install ReShade with its own setup and tick the Vulkan option, then use DLSS5-Feeder's Vulkan layer (layer-x64 in its zip). This tool covers Direct3D 10, 11 and 12.

A game that offers both Vulkan and Direct3D still takes the Direct3D path, so nothing that worked before changes.
