Max Payne 2 VR v1.0.2
- Added gore, enabled by default: bullet holes and exit wounds with flesh, muscle and bone, running and pooling blood, burns and dismemberment. In long fights, old corpses out of view lose their wounds to keep memory stable.
- Added picking up severed limbs and swinging them as melee weapons.
- Added an optional Weapon Wheel: hold both face buttons, point at a gun and release to swap it into that hand, with the game's weapon-select sounds.
- Added an All Weapons option (with the Weapon Wheel) giving every gun, grenades and Molotovs with full ammo.
- Added optional Stick Actions: jump and crouch on the right stick, shoot-dodge or bullet time on A / Cross.
- Added gun spinning, enabled by default: hold eject and release grip to spin a gun around your trigger finger. The sawed-off loads a shell with each full turn.
- Added a Trigger Sensitivity setting (20% to 95%) and an option to disable finger movement.
- Made the sniper rifle bolt easier to work, improved its hand poses and fixed it slipping out of your hand mid-pull.
- PSVR2 now renders with the headset's exact per-eye field of view.
- Significantly reduced per-frame CPU overhead, improving frame rates, especially in combat.
- Fixed guns being duplicated when saving or loading with a gun in hand.
- Fixed missed trigger presses on Quest 2 controllers and dual-wielded magazines sometimes refusing to eject.
- Fixed gore not appearing while playing as Mona: her shots now wound enemies just like Max's.
- Quest 3S controllers now use the Quest 3 trigger point instead of needing a full pull.
- Crouching with Stick Actions now lowers your view and hands with Max, and his body keeps following your real head movement with his feet planted.
- The Weapon Wheel now also works with an empty hand: the chosen gun goes into it and stays there until you squeeze and release grip.
- Steam Frame: right B and left D-pad Left can now open the Weapon Wheel. Run Fix Frame Controls.cmd once (and again after a SteamVR update); Restore Frame Controls.cmd undoes it.
- Fixed gore stopping after many kills in long fights: every new shot now wounds. When memory runs low, or after more than 20 bodies, the oldest corpses out of view have their gore cleared first, and old dismembered corpses are removed.
