Diagnostic tool for players whose game edition is not accepted by Setup (for example, regional Steam editions). It is not needed to play the mod.
It reads your game's maxpayne2.exe and engine DLLs as data and writes a text report comparing them with the supported English Steam version. It doesn't launch or modify the game, doesn't install anything, and doesn't connect to the internet. The report contains no game data, usernames or full paths.
How to use: extract the ZIP to a new folder outside the game folder, run MP2VR Compatibility Check.exe, click "Select game and check", choose your maxpayne2.exe, wait for "Finished", and attach the MP2VR-Compatibility-….txt report to your GitHub issue.

Antivirus warnings: some scanners flag this exe with generic or AI-based detections. It's unsigned, rarely downloaded, and opens EXE/DLL files to fingerprint them, which these engines often treat as suspicious. If in doubt, run it in Windows Sandbox or a VM with a copy of the game folder.
