Integrates upstream AstroQuest v0.22, retaining this fork's performance, transparency, resolution controls and crash-report collection.
Fixes
- Virtual Desktop frame delivery: incorporates upstream's dedicated Vulkan queue handling and tracks GPU copy completion before reusing images. A runtime stall no longer holds the game's submission lock when a second queue is available. Retains our late-frame recovery.
- Soccer-enemy crashes: expands the console-frame timing correction from two to six instruction sites in both game 1.00 and 1.04.
- Runtime exceptions and crash messages: caught runtime C++ exceptions no longer trigger emulator shutdown merely because Windows reports them first. Exceptions escaping runtime calls are handled as a lost session. Assertion messages and queued logs are flushed, and the launcher displays more failure detail.
- GPU memory pressure: automatic resolution increases are held back above 80% of a discrete GPU's memory budget.
- US release support: recognizes CUSA12431 alongside CUSA12392.
- Standalone pacing: adds a 45 FPS cap alongside Full Framerate and Steady 30 FPS, and explicitly selects the capped pacing mode. The 45 cap aligns to whole display intervals: 45 at 90 Hz, 36 at 72 Hz, or 40 at 120 Hz.
Downloads and installation
- PC VR: extract AstroQuest-PC-VR-v0.8.7.zip. Place your extracted game under games//eboot.bin or select it when prompted. Start your OpenXR runtime and run Play Astro Bot VR.bat. Preserve games and pc-vr/user when updating. Crash-report ZIP collection is included.
- Quest, PICO, Galaxy XR: sideload the APK matching your headset with adb install -r. Existing package identities and signing keys are retained. Each matching Support.zip includes installation instructions and a log collector. Resolution/FOV sliders and existing platform settings remain available.
- Standalone game files belong at /data/local/tmp/astro/games/<TITLE_ID>/eboot.bin with the complete extracted game. An update can sit alongside the base folder as <TITLE_ID>-UPDATE. Game data and saves are not included.
Validation
Windows and ARM64 builds, Android host compilation and APK signature checks passed. Launcher and late-frame recovery regression tests passed. Guarded patch checks passed against actual 1.00 and 1.04 executables, including all six soccer timing sites. These checks do not substitute for gameplay testing on every headset.
