Statistics
New: Kirpich now records what you play. Recording is always on — a settings switch, off by default, adds a stats item to the title screen.
Five branches: all-time totals, and one per mode with a picker that moves the figures under it. Each
combination keeps its own rounds, time, drops, score, lines by kind, the seven piece counts, and the
longest single round.
Because recording does not wait for the switch, you can leave it off, play for a month, and turn it
on to find that month already counted.
Attract-mode rounds are not counted. Quitting mid-round still records the round.
Achievements
Thirty-six across nine sections, reached from the stats menu. Badges are drawn from the game's own
art and shaded by whether they are earned; Pressing A on one gives its description, the date it was unlocked,
and your play time at that moment. A round that earns something shows each one on the way out.
The current achievements in Kirpich are inspired by RetroAchievements — the idea
itself and their sense of what is worth rewarding in this game. Nothing is taken from their
implementation: every condition is written against this port's own recorded statistics, and the
names, the descriptions and the badge art are original. Kirpich is not affiliated with
RetroAchievements and does not connect to their service.
Heart mode
The cartridge's faster gravity, hidden behind holding Down at Start. Kirpich's title screen had taken
that input for its menu, so the mode was unreachable in every release before this one.
Select on the title screen toggles it. The cursor becomes a heart while it is on, and a heart sits
beside the difficulty heading and beside the level in play. It stays on until you turn it off.
Heart rounds keep separate top scores and separate statistics. Once you have played one, the
statistics gain an all / normal / heart filter.
Resets
The settings gain a page of four: high scores, statistics, achievements, or all three. Each asks
first and clears only what it names.
Fixes
- A C-Type round that flew the rocket returned to the A-Type difficulty screen, and a new C-Type top
score entered its name over A-Type's leaderboard. Both now go to C-Type. - B now backs out of the game-type screen to the title. It was the one selection screen with no way
back, so leaving it meant playing a round.
Existing settings and top scores carry forward untouched.
Windows: the download is unsigned, so SmartScreen will warn about an unrecognized publisher.
Choose More info → Run anyway. Signing is coming in a later release.
Kirpich contains no playable copyrighted content. On first start it asks for your own Game Boy
