github ethstaker/eth-docker v26.10.0
Version 26.10.0

This is a recommended release

Manual intervention needed if coming from v26.7.2-dev through v26.9.0-dev

If you are updating from an Eth Docker version (check with ./ethd version) of v26.7.2-dev up to v26.9.0-dev, and you use grafana.yml or grafana-cloud.yml, you may have a directory that was incorrectly created with root ownership. In this case, ./ethd update would fail with an unsubtle error
To fix this manually, cd ~/eth-docker or into the directory where you have Eth Docker installed, then sudo rm -rf ./prometheus/node-exporter-text
After that you can safely run ./ethd update

Deprecations

  • The legacy validator-exit service for Lighthouse, Lodestar, Nimbus, Prysm and Teku is deprecated and support will be removed after Hegotá hardfork. Please switch your tooling to use ./ethd keys sign-exit and ./ethd keys send-exit instead
  • Nethermind's legacy Patricia/HalfPath DB is deprecated, support will be removed when Nethermind removes support for it. ./ethd update will warn you; you can switch to a Flat DB via ./ethd resync-execution
  • Nethermind's legacy nm-eth1-data volume is deprecated, support will be removed when Nethermind removes support for its Patricia/HalfPath DB. ./ethd update will warn you; you can switch to a supported volume and Flat DB via ./ethd resync-execution
  • The consensus layer client TCP transport port is deprecated. Make sure to port-forward its UDP QUIC transport port and UDP discovery port. Use ./ethd port-check to get an overview. Support will be removed when the clients remove it, expected sometime Q1 2027
  • mev-boost.yml and commit-boost-pbs.yml will be removed after Glamsterdam hardfork on mainnet, expected December 2026. Clients are implementing ePBS support, which Eth Docker will support as they do. ./ethd update will warn you

Breaking changes

  • Require Nethermind v2.0.0 or later, for FlatDB support
  • If using stakewise-expiry, require Geth v1.17.7 or later
  • If using ePBS parameters, require Lodestar v1.47.0 or later
  • If using blob-archive, require Nimbus v26.9.0 or later
  • If using Caplin, require Erigon v3.7.1 or later
  • Require Docker buildx

Changes

  • New ePBS variables in .env: EPBS_BUILDERS, EPBS_BUILDER_URLS, EPBS_MIN_BID, EPBS_BUILD_FACTOR
  • Add ./ethd keys [set|get|delete]-builder command for ePBS
  • Support ePBS on Lodestar
  • Add ./ethd port-check command. Give it a whirl, it's nifty. ./ethd port-check --troubleshoot gives instructions on how to test incoming ports
  • Default to Nethermind FlatDB
  • Support Besu bonsai archive
  • Support era1 file import for Besu full node
  • Add blob-archive to Nimbus
  • Nethermind rolling-expiry keeps 33_024 epochs, not 1 year
  • ./ethd keys accepts comma-separated validator pubkeys
  • Update Lido oracle allowlist. Thanks to @cnupy!
  • Support QUIC with Nimbus Unified
  • Support QUIC with Caplin
  • Ephemery network support for Lighthouse, Nimbus, Prysm, Geth, Nimbus EL, Nimbus Unified
  • New EL_NODE_TYPE stakewise-expiry for Geth, Nethermind and Reth
  • Support ENR bootnodes for Nethermind custom networks
  • Geth source build uses Go 1.27
  • Increase Besu default heap to -Xmx7g, to help with era1 file import. Adjust with BESU_HEAP variable in .env
  • Attempt to keep custom CL_NODE during ./ethd config
  • Nag Ubuntu users if their docker.io is old
  • Drop default Tempo trace retention to 3 days. Existing tempo/tempo.yaml configuration files are not adjusted automatically
  • Bump Tempo to v3.1.0
  • Move web3signer key security reduction to w3s-tools.yml

Bug fixes

  • Fix Teku dual stack support; separate ports are required for now
  • ./ethd space displays space only once when disk space is low
  • Fix ./ethd attach-geth command
  • Fix an issue where ./ethd terminate in eth-docker would also delete volumes in test-eth-docker
  • Guard against broken CORE_FILES variable in .env during ./ethd update migration
  • Fix ./ethd update on macOS
  • Set MAX_BLOBS to at least 1 during ./ethd config
  • Fix Nimbus source build
  • Work around keymanager bugs in Lighthouse and Prysm
