New
- Single and Batch capture modes. Single (the default) sends every shot through the crop screen before it's saved. Batch works like 3.0. Switch between them above the shutter or in Settings.
- Turn off live document detection (#124). A switch on the camera screen and in Settings gives you a plain camera. Corners are still suggested afterwards on the crop screen.
- Sideways pages come out upright. Pages shot with the phone held sideways are stored the right way up. The camera's icons turn to show the sideways hold was detected.
- The export sheet says where your file went, and tells you plainly if it had to save to the app's private storage instead.
- Spanish and Simplified Chinese translations (Chinese by @yk1234f), plus strings that were missing in other languages.
Improved
- Sharper scans. Pages are captured at the camera's full resolution (e.g. 12.5MP instead of 1280×720) and processed in about half a second. Exports are much sharper. Pages are larger, about 0.65MB each.
- Auto-capture is off by default. It's a switch in the top bar, and a ring fills around the shutter as it counts down.
- Cleaner capture screen. One guidance line at the top of the viewfinder instead of pop-up messages over the shutter, and a 4:3 viewfinder without dark bands. In Batch mode, a thumbnail of the last page shows how many pages you've taken.
- Back from the camera keeps your pages instead of discarding them.
- Hold a page to select it. Reordering has moved to ⋮ → Reorder pages.
- The crop screen opens immediately after the shutter.
Fixed
- Less memory use with long documents (#107). Page thumbnails are loaded at the size they're shown instead of at full resolution, so long documents no longer run low-memory phones out of memory. A 60-page document now peaks at 260MB instead of 727MB.
- The crop magnifier no longer slides off screen near the image edges.
- The crop screen's corners are placed correctly, and auto-capture no longer fires straight away after a retake.
