Every capture now keeps two pictures of itself, and the sites you reported work.

Making ZIMs

• Two pictures for every capture. The live page as the web served it, and the same page as your ZIM serves it. Full page, same treatment, shown side by side on the Create card and in About. They are stored as ZIM metadata, not as articles, so they travel with the file and never appear in search.
• A capture that collapsed says so. When the packaged page comes out a fraction of the live one's height, the job log tells you. Not a similarity score, a failure detector.
• Pages that tile a background picture are no longer black. The old background= attribute on a body, table or cell is now carried by both engines. spacejam.com's 1996 site is the test case.
• A page whose interface is JavaScript tells you before you package it (#64). On an engine that drops scripts, Zimi counts the script-driven controls and names the alive engine when they are the interface.
• nerdfonts.com's glyph table works (#64). Its search lives in an inline script, and the replay layer's block wrapper made it unreachable inside the ZIM (python-scraperlib#329). Zimi patches the sidecar at install until the fix lands upstream.
• Every site you report goes into a test suite and stays there. tests/sites/reported.json plus scripts/site_suite.py: each site is captured, opened the way a reader opens it, and the thing that was broken is exercised.

Running a server

• manage_open: management with no password and no questions about where you are. manage_open: true, or ZIMI_MANAGE_OPEN=1. Every other way of saying "I do not want a password" reasoned about network position, and that was wrong twice. This one asks nothing, and announces itself in the log at every boot, because anyone who can reach the server can delete the library.
• /health counts the whole library again. Since 1.8.0 it counted through the caller's allowlist, so an unauthenticated monitor saw an empty server.
• A media file fetched without a Range is no longer truncated. curl, wget or a download link saved one window of a large video and reported no error.

Reading

• Darken articles now applies to a captured site when you tick it (#65). Left on its default, a capture keeps its own design.
• A ZIM under a megabyte shows its real size instead of 0 B.
• Pages that write their attributes in capitals keep their images, the hollow-block sweep no longer flattens painted bands, video captures keep the original-language captions, and content breakdowns add up to the whole.
