✨ New Features
- Window Gestures: manage windows with trackpad gestures
- Turn it on in Settings > Gestures, then accept the restart prompt
- Gestures need "Zoom in or out" and "Smart zoom" enabled in System Settings > Trackpad for pinch and double-tap
- An orange notice with an Open Trackpad Settings button appears if either is off
- Window Gestures on a window's title bar
- Two fingers on the title bar: swipe left or right to snap to a half, swipe up to fill the screen
- Swipe sideways, then up or down, to snap to a corner
- Swipe down to minimize, pinch out for full screen, double-tap to center
- Pinch in to close the window, or just the tab in browsers and other tabbed apps
- Windows with custom title bars respond in the top strip of the window
- Drag a snapped window by its title bar to return it to its original size
- Drag the shared edge between snapped windows to resize both
- Window Gestures on Dock icons
- Two fingers on an app's Dock icon: swipe down to minimize
- Swipe up to restore the last minimized window, or bring the app forward if none is minimized
- Pinch in to quit the app
- Window Gestures on the menu bar
- Two fingers on an empty menu bar area: swipe left or right for the previous or next app
- Hold, then swipe, to open the window switcher; lift to select, press Esc to cancel
- Swipe down or up to minimize or restore all windows on that display
- New Gestures tab with a redesigned Window Gestures page
- Settings > Gestures replaces the combined Gestures & Keybinds page
- A headline on/off switch sits above a looping animated demo
- Each gesture has its own row with a description and on/off switch
- Hover a row to play its demo
- Rows are grouped under On a Window's Title Bar, On a Dock Icon, and On the Menu Bar
- Options for Window Gestures
- Settings > Gestures > Options: Sensitivity, a preview of where the window will land, and haptic feedback
- A tooltip next to the pointer shows the action about to happen, with the snap region or app icon
- Back up and restore settings
- Settings > General > Backup & Restore > Export Settings… saves a JSON file
- Import Settings… replaces your current settings and restarts DockDoor
- A confirmation shows how many settings will be restored and warns if the backup is from a different version
- Clear errors appear if a file isn't a DockDoor backup or can't be read or saved
- Searching Settings for "backup", "export", "restore", or "migrate" finds both options
- Reserve screen space for a third-party dock
- Settings > Gestures > Space for a Custom Dock
- Choose Off, Bottom, Left, Right, or Top, and set a size from 10 to 300 px
- Reserved space is capped at 40% of the screen
- Snapped windows and window positioning stay clear of the strip
- Dock apps can report their own space, listed under Reported by Apps
- Scripts can also reserve space with AppleScript, for example
reserve screen edge "bottom" thickness 80 for "com.example.MyDock" on display "main" - Reservations are released when the reporting app quits
- Swipe Sensitivity for the trackpad window switcher
- Settings > Gestures > More Gestures > Swipe Sensitivity, from 0.5 to 2
- Higher values respond to shorter swipes; the default of 1 is unchanged
- New Works with DockDoor page featuring Parall
🔧 Improvements & Stability
- Gestures are easier to find and manage
- Dock icon scroll, title bar scroll, dock preview swipes, and the trackpad window switcher swipe are under Settings > Gestures > More Gestures
- Scroll gestures are dimmed while Window Gestures is on, since it handles those areas
- Settings search now points gesture results to the Gestures tab
- Settings > Keybinds is now its own page
- It holds mouse actions, Cmd-key shortcuts, and window switcher keybinds
- Window Gestures only loads when enabled
- Turning it on or off prompts a restart, and it uses no resources while off
- Snapped windows leave room for Stage Manager
- Applies to all DockDoor window positioning, not just gestures
- Works when the Dock is on the left, too
- Centering a window is more reliable
- Windows larger than the screen shrink to fit
- Previously snapped windows return to their original size
- Snap previews no longer glitch on very small windows
- Gesture feedback is more accurate
- Gestures over Dock icons are detected more reliably, including on multiple displays
- The tooltip appears in the right place on multi-display setups
- Esc cancels a gesture more reliably
- Minimize and restore gestures keep your window list accurate
- Window previews and the switcher stay up to date after a gesture
- Minimize all and Restore all only affect the current Space and the display under your cursor
- Restore all brings the most recently used window to the front
🐛 Bug Fixes
- DockDoor launches normally again on macOS 26
- Window switcher returns to the tab you selected in tabbed apps like Finder and Terminal
- Window positions and sizes are recorded more accurately for the switcher and previews
- Switcher order is no longer disturbed by background apps
- Active App Indicator stays in place while a Dock icon bounces
- Applies with the Dock at the bottom, left, or right
- Leftover reserved screen space no longer affects snapping after a dock app quits
