⚠️ BETA RELEASE WARNING
This is an unstable pre-release version intended for testing purposes only.
✨ New Features
- Window Actions menu in the menu bar
- Lists every running app and its windows — minimize, close, quit, hide, tile into halves/quarters, center, toggle full screen, bring to current Space, or open a new window, all without hovering the Dock
- Full window actions in preview right-click menus
- Right-click any preview for tiling, centering, hiding, bringing to current Space, and opening new windows, grouped into Window/Arrange/Application sections
- New "System Main Display" option for Dock locking
- Settings > Dock Locking > "Lock Dock to" — keeps the Dock on whichever screen currently holds the menu bar
- Alternate switcher shortcut can use its own modifier key
- Settings > Gestures/Keybinds > Window Switcher Shortcuts > Alternate Shortcut — pick Control, Option, or Command independently of your main shortcut
- Escape can now be captured as part of the alternate shortcut
🔧 Improvements & Stability
- Window switcher and Dock previews scroll and render more smoothly, especially with many windows open
- Dock hover, scroll, and click handling now only activate when your mouse is actually near the Dock, avoiding unnecessary background work elsewhere on screen
- Switcher opens instantly and fills in windows as they're found instead of briefly freezing when empty
- Window switcher refreshes up to every 5 seconds instead of 60
- Newly opened or closed windows, including ones from terminal-launched apps, show up much faster
- Your current selection is preserved if the list refreshes in the background, instead of possibly jumping around
- Switcher hotkey responds faster when your fullscreen-app blacklist (Settings) is empty
- DockDoor recovers more reliably after sleep or a display/resolution change
- Unresponsive apps no longer stall Dock hover, previews, or the switcher
- Dock locking now moves the real Dock to your locked screen automatically
- Previously required manually pushing your cursor to that screen's edge; you can still override with the bypass modifier
- Locked-display and pinned-switcher-display choices survive reboots and reconnects
- Settings warns when a locked display's Dock edge is covered by another screen
- Shown in Settings > Dock Locking with a suggestion to rearrange displays in System Settings > Displays
- Pressing Return now selects the highlighted window in the switcher
- Window switcher stays centered while search-filtering resizes it
- Traffic-light action buttons redesigned as glossy 3D orbs matching newer macOS style
- Cmd-W, Cmd-M, and standard Edit shortcuts now work in the Settings window
- Includes Cmd-Z undo, Cmd-C/V/X, Cmd-A, and Cmd-Q to quit
- DockDoor Pro promotion is more visible
- Settings > General shows a banner clarifying DockDoor Free has no paywall, with Pro's $20 one-time price and 3-Mac / 14-day guarantee
- "Get DockDoor Pro…" added to the menu bar menu and Settings > Support
🐛 Bug Fixes
- Clicking a Dock icon no longer leaves the Dock stuck open after auto-hide
- Selected window stays visible when the card background is hidden
- Settings > Appearance > "Hide preview card background" now still shows an accent-colored selection border
- Meeting-reminder toasts (like Outlook's) no longer appear in the window switcher
- Scrolling works again in Dock hover previews
- Untitled system overlay windows no longer show up as fake app windows in previews
- Preview thumbnails capture correctly under Stage Manager instead of sometimes appearing blank
- "Quit app when its last window closes" now works reliably
- Correctly quits after you close the final window via Cmd+W or from a preview, without prematurely quitting busy apps
- Apps that quit silently no longer leave stale entries in the switcher or Dock previews
- Tab titles update reliably even when several tabs change at once
- Collapsed tabs keep whichever tab is actually visible on screen
- With "Collapse tabs into a single window" on, the on-screen tab is no longer hidden behind a background tab
- Pinned media-control widgets no longer steal the spacebar from the app you're using
- Closing or minimizing a window from the switcher no longer closes the switcher itself
- Windows on other Spaces are recognized as separate windows instead of merging into your current one
- Settings mockup previews no longer respond to clicks or hovers as if they were real windows
- Fixed a crash/hang that could occur while typing to search in the window switcher
- Stray cached window data no longer lingers after closing Settings
