Summary
Sets flash_chip: generic under esp32 > framework > advanced in esphome/nspanel_esphome_hw_memory.yaml, so only the generic SPI flash driver is linked. This removes the unused flash vendor drivers (GD, ISSI, MXIC, Winbond, Boya, TH), saving IRAM and a small amount of DRAM, and resolves the boot warning Set flash_chip: generic under esp32 > framework > advanced to save IRAM.
Compatibility
- The
flash_chipoption was introduced in ESPHome 2026.10.0 (esphome/esphome#19217). Older versions reject the key as a schema error. min_esphome_compiler_versionis not changed here, as the versioning workflow always sets it to the release month minus 2. This PR must only be merged in December 2026 or later, so the release requires ESPHome 2026.10.0 or later.- The panel runs the flash in DIO mode (ESPHome default), where the generic driver covers all required operations, so no functional change is expected even if a unit uses a different flash vendor.
Notes
- Kept as draft until December 2026.
- CI builds against ESPHome
latestwill fail until 2026.10.0 is released as stable.
