Changed
- zip 9 for reading and writing EPUB containers, and the family on it:
epubveri 0.29.1, epubsana 0.31.0, kepubverto 0.2.1 (crates and the
web's Validate and Repair modules together). zip 8 is gone from the
build; every zip below 9.0.0 failscargo audit
(RUSTSEC-2026-0367/0368/0369, in extraction code epublift never calls).
Plus the dependencies' compatible updates. Measured on our 562-book test
shelf: converted books,.eparcarchives and restores are the same as
before (the new build also restores the old build's archives), upgraded
and repaired books get the same findings, and the web's Validate and
Repair agree with the CLI. epublift checkand web Validate (epubveri 0.29):- an entry that cannot be inflated is a fatal PKG-008 (with RSC-003 for
container.xml, OPF-001 for the package document), where it used to
read as a missing file, so an unreadablecontainer.xmlcame out VALID; - a wrong CRC alone is no longer a finding, as in epubcheck;
- a compressed
mimetypewith the right contents is advisory (NEXT-016),
not an error. epublift's own output always stores it.
- an entry that cannot be inflated is a fatal PKG-008 (with RSC-003 for
.eparcarchiving applies the converter's entry-count and decompressed-size
limits to the book it reads.
Fixed
- A book with an entry longer than its header declares (zip 9 refuses to
read one; zip 8 and epubcheck read it whole) converts, archives and shows
its metadata as before. Stored and deflated entries are inflated from
their raw bytes, as in epubveri, epubsana and kepubverto.
