Questing Bots 1.1.0

  • Added Fika sync plugin (currently only needed for the host machine) for the following features:
    • Keys spawned in bot inventories to unlock doors will propagate to all client machines (#114; thanks @ozen-m)
    • If players do not spawn together, a spawn-rush quest will be created for each of them
  • Allow bots to be interrupted to select a new quest based on certain triggers (#89). The chance of bots being interrupted is reduced the further they are from the trigger, and some bots will not be interrupted if they are performing a more desirable quest. The currently supported triggers are:
    • Airdrop landings (for Airdrop Chaser quests)
    • VEX activations (for VEX Rush quests)
    • Switch activations (if enabled for the quest)
  • Added VEX Rush quest type (#88)
  • Disabled Spawn Rush quests on Labyrinth
  • Added new quests:
    • Hermetic door switch investigation on Reserve (enabled while the switch is on)
    • Multiple camping and switch-investigation quests on Labs
  • Improved bot movement
    • Bots will seek cover (if a nearby point is available) when taking a break from questing and looting. This causes them to stand guard against a building, hide in a bush, and anything in between. While standing guard, they will face against the nearest wall and look toward random player hotspots to search for enemies.
    • Questing bosses will take cover (if a nearby point is available) while waiting for their followers to catch up. This reduces how much their followers lag behind them and makes them move a little more organically.
    • When searching for cover points and patrol points, bots will prefer ones that are in the same area as their target location (either indoors or outdoors)
    • While in cover, bots will reload, heal, eat, or drink if needed. This also makes bots more likely to seek cover before starting to heal.
    • If bots hear an enemy (before SAIN takes over), they have a chance to investigate its estimated position of the sound. The louder the sound is, the closer they are to it, and the more often the enemy makes noise, the more accurate the estimated position will be. If they do not investigate the sound, they will either freeze and look in the direction of the sound or they will hide in cover.
    • Refresh bot cover and patrol points more regularly, not just when they stop questing, so they're more likely to find eligible points as they travel
  • Added PMC and PScav spawning system enhancements:
    • Added max_alive_bots.use_map_lobby_size config.json option to spawn all PMCs at the start of the raid. This is disabled by default due to the possible performance impact and to prevent all PMCs from killing each other in the first 10 minutes of the raid.
    • Added a chance that certain maps will sometimes not have full lobbies (so fewer PMCs will spawn)
    • Added an additional chance that sometimes fewer PMCs will join raids at night
  • Configuration updates:
    • Reduced max_alive_bots for Labs from 9 to 6 to keep PMCs in raids longer
    • Reduced the desirability of the "Flash-Drive Van" quest on Customs from 30 to 20
    • Reduced the maximum distance that bots will travel to an Airdrop Rush quest from 400m to 250m (because the new quest interruption system makes them more likely to select it immediately after the crate lands)
    • Allow followers to wander up to 20m away from their bosses (increased from 12m) so their movement is more fluid
    • Reduced delay time before questing bosses can regroup with their followers from 5s to 2s
    • Increased minimum time that questing bosses have to continue regrouping with their followers after starting to regroup from 1s to 2s
    • Increased the minimum time for bots to be suspicious from 5s to 10s and increased the maximum time from 20s to 45s
  • Debug gizmo changes:
    • Added new debug gizmo to show the time of day
    • Show current enemies of bots and how far they are from them in their debug overlays
    • Only show the path status of bots in their debug overlays if their path is not complete
  • Slight performance improvements for the AI limiter
  • Cache server queries to improve performance in subsequent raids
  • Added patch to monitor when BotMover.SetPlayerToNavMesh runs (only enabled for debug builds)
  • Added patch to monitor when BotExternalItemsController.OnItemTaken runs (only enabled for debug builds)
  • Lots of refactoring
  • Bug fix for bots randomly teleporting if they switch brain layers quickly in a short period of time, which sometimes results in them getting stuck or trapped in inaccessible areas of the map
  • Bug fix for brain-layer time-gate delays getting overwritten, causing the layer to update too quickly or too slowly
  • Bug fix for bots shuffling when switching out of a custom brain layer (#15)
  • Bug fix for PScavs spawning at the start of night Factory raids
  • Bug fix for bots never jumping or vaulting to get "unstuck" if they are trapped in weird parts of the map geometry (especially on Customs)

config.json files from previous versions are not compatible.
