ORBIT 1.0.B: Bluetooth MIDI and phone audio
orbit-ble.fwsc brings all the ORBIT 1.0.0 features to the FM-1 Bluetooth build and adds a Bluetooth audio sink. The regular orbit.fwsc build has no Bluetooth audio or radio.
Play a phone through the FM-1
Turn on MENU > SYSTEM > BLUETOOTH, then pair your phone with ORBIT FM-1 Audio in its Bluetooth audio settings. This classic Bluetooth audio connection is separate from the ORBIT FM-1 Bluetooth MIDI connection. Phone audio plays through the FM-1 alongside ORBIT's instruments. The Bluetooth MIDI host role remains available.
When the phone is connected, GLO > BT AUDIO shows a PHONE level on KNOB 1. The phone level initially follows the master volume until you adjust it separately. Disconnecting the phone hides the page. The phone audio is mixed after ORBIT's MASTER control; adjust PHONE to balance it against your tracks.
The FM-1 stores phone pairing keys in its Bluetooth settings so a paired phone can reconnect after a power cycle. Existing Bluetooth MIDI and radio calibration data remain readable. Bluetooth is still off at startup until you enable it.
Bluetooth build differences
The FM replacements for built-in melodic samples and the original sampled drums remain as described in the sound list. To make room for phone audio, the delay line is now about 0.37 seconds, or about 0.19 seconds per side in PING mode; longer delay times clamp to this length. User samples and ORP8/OPB3 storage remain available.
The device owner reports that the firmware works on the FM-1. Hardware radio/audio load, latency and memory high-water measurements are not established by host tests; see the validation record. The web emulator lets you compare the firmware sound builds, but browser Bluetooth phone audio is not emulated.
