v12.1.1 — Dashboard and OAuth security fixes

Special Thanks

Thanks to workkoki20034-ux and Taewoong1378 for privately reporting the security issues and providing reproducible examples.

Highlights

Upgrade to 12.1.1 to close stored XSS paths in dashboard labels and require write scope for graph entity extraction. This patch also keeps uncertain consolidation contradictions visible by default.

Security

  • Escape stored tag, co-occurring tag and memory-type labels in dashboard management and analytics views to prevent stored HTML from executing in a viewer's session. (GHSA-6q59-m6vq-x65x)
  • Require OAuth write scope for graph entity extraction through the MCP dispatcher and HTTP shim, while keeping existing graph read operations available to read-only clients. (GHSA-2mw6-h564-86wv)

Added

  • Label claim-pending on an unassigned claim comment (#1518). When a comment on an unassigned issue reads as a claim (/claim or an anchored phrase such as "I'd like to work on this"), a new issue_comment workflow adds the claim-pending label, so a claim is visible at once instead of only in the next daily digest. Assignment stays manual — the label is the only automated signal, with no auto-assign and no bot comment — and the issues: assigned path drops the label once a maintainer assigns. Phrase matching is deliberately tight: it prefers missing a claim to mislabelling a question, so "can I take this approach?" does not match.

Fixed

  • Consolidation keeps keyword-only contradictions visible and marks uncertain edges for review (#1460).
Sharing words such as "never" could previously hide the older memory from
default retrieval. MCP_CONSOLIDATION_AUTO_SUPERSEDE now defaults to false.
Inferred graph edges retain their confidence: scores at or below 0.60 become
related, scores between 0.60 and 0.85 keep their label with needs_review: true,
and scores at or above 0.85 keep their label without the review flag. Only the
top band is eligible for explicitly enabled supersession; keyword contradictions
score at most 0.75. Consolidation also forwards similarity to the existing
inference guard (#1459). Existing supersessions are unchanged. Selection and
calibration of a local contradiction judgment model remain follow-up work.
  • Remove the dashboard's five inline click handlers (#1549). Dashboard interactions now use registered event listeners so they remain compatible with the planned Content-Security-Policy.
